SAUCE OFF COMPETITION

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

 

NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN THIS SAUCE OFF COMPETITION (THE “COMPETITION”). A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING THE COMPETITION. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW. MUST BE 21 OR OLDER TO SUBMIT AN ENTRY.

The Competition will be held at Blake Farms on Aug 26th, 2023 from 1-3pm.

 

The promoters of the Competition are Detroit Wing Company AND Blake Farms (collectively, the “Promoters”).

 

Corporate employees of either of the Promoters or their family members or anyone else connected in any way with the Competition or helping to set up the Competition shall not be permitted to enter the Competition.

By submitting an entry form, you agree to these Terms and Conditions and to the decisions of the Promoters, which are final and binding, in all respects. The deadline to submit an entry form will be 11:59 pm on Aug 11th, 2023. After this date, no further entries to the Competition will be accepted or permitted. Only one entry per person will be accepted. Multiple entries will be deleted. Promoters reserve the right to refuse any entry and may further cancel the Competition at any time, in their discretion. The Promoters are not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, garbled, stolen, misdirected, returned, non-deliverable, illegible entries, unavailable network connections or transmissions, or problems of any kind, whether mechanical, human, or electronic. All entries are the property of the Promoters and no entries will be acknowledged or returned.

 

COMPETITION RULES: 

  • Sauce MUST be made from scratch.
  • You MUST bring at least one gallon of your made from scratch sauce for sampling.
  • Sauce MUST be pre-made before the Competition.
  • You MUST supply your own hot holding or cold holding equipment / ice and any other equipment or items needed for your sauce.
  • You MUST also supply your own marketing/branding or signage for the sauce and decoration of your booth. 
  • You may, but are not required, to use the LIST of suggested ingredients for inspiration for your sauce.
  • You are not required to use or consume Alcoholic Liquor in connection with your participation in the Competition.
  • Your sauce is prohibited from containing ½ of 1% or more of alcohol by volume.

 

THE PRIZE(S)

First Place – Best Sauce Winner

  • Winning sauce will inspire Detroit Wing Company’s next “made from scratch” sauce to potentially be featured brand wide. 
  • $250 DWC Gift card
  • Blake’s Hard Cider Swag Bag

 

Second Place Winner

  • $150 DWC Gift card 

 

The winners will be selected at the end of the competition by a panel appointed by the Promoters for second place prize and by the general attendees for the first palace prize. You must be present at the end of the competition to receive your prize. If you are not present, the prize will be awarded to another participant. The winners must disclose their sauce recipe and ingredients to Detroit Wing Company. The winners hereby grant Detroit Wing Company an irrevocable license to use the sauce recipe and ingredients for any purpose whatsoever in Detroit Wing Company’s sole and absolute discretion and without any additional compensation or economic consideration. The selected winning sauce will inspire a future limited time only sauce. Detroit Wing Company reserves the right to modify the recipe should it choose to feature the sauce at its restaurants and to discontinue use of the sauce at any time. 

 

No cash alternatives to the prizes will be offered. The prizes are not transferable. The Promoters reserve the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice.

 

The Promoter’s decision in respect of all matters related to the Competition will be final and binding. You are similarly prohibited from challenging the decision of the panel appointed to judge the Competition. The Promoters reserve the right, at their sole discretion, to disqualify any individual they find to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Competition; to be acting in violation of these Terms and Conditions; to be cheating, hacking, or engaging in deception or other unfair playing practices, or to be acting in a non-sportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass Promoters or any other person.

 

The winner agrees that the Promoters have the right to use his/her name, image, and likeness in any manner whatsoever, including without limitation, on any marketing or promotional materials. Any other personal data relating to the winner or any other entrants will not be displayed publicly and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s prior consent. 

 

Detroit Wing Company will supply to the Competition:

  • Boneless wing pieces for the competitors to use at their sampling stand so the attendees can sample the sauce on a Detroit Wing Company boneless wing. 
  • A physical ticket to hand out to attendees upon entrance to the sampling area. 
  • Shared marketing material for the event. 
  • One 10’x10’ branded tent and branded table to vend boneless wings and fries with two signature sauces for purchase. 
  • Napkins, toothpicks, sample cups to each competitor.
  • Digital application form for competitors to apply.
  • The Gift Cards to the winners.

 

Blake Farms will Supply to the event:

  • Tents and tables for the competitors.
  • Time allowance on the main stage for the announcement of the winner. 
  • Shared marketing material for the event.
  • 4 FREE Festival tickets to competitors.

 

By entering this Competition or accepting the prize, you hereby release, indemnify and hold harmless, Promoters, and each of their respective owners, members, officers, directors, managers, employees, affiliates, agents, contractors, franchisees, successors and assigns, one and all, from and against all actions and liability (including attorney’s fees and costs) due to injury, loss or damage to person or property, including death, caused in whole or in part, directly or indirectly from your participation in the Competition, your sauce, food-born illnesses, or the use, misuse, acceptance, or possession of the prize. The prize winner waives the right (1) to assert as a cost of winning the prize any and all costs of verification and redemption or travel to redeem said prize, and (2) to any liability claim which might arise from redeeming or seeking to redeem said prize. Promoters  (i) make no warranty, guarantee, or representation of any kind concerning any prize; and (ii) disclaim any and all implied warranties. If any provision of these Terms and Conditions shall be deemed to violate any federal, state, or local law, it shall be amended to conform to such law and all other provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

You agree that any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Competition or any prizes awarded and all issues and questions concerning the validity, interpretation, and enforceability of these Terms and Conditions shall be subject to the laws of the State of Michigan and shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively in a court of competent jurisdiction sitting in Oakland County, Michigan. Any and all claims, judgments, and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering this Competition, and never shall include consequential, incidental, or punitive damages, and in no event attorneys’ fees. Some jurisdictions do not allow the limitation or exclusion of liability for incidental or consequential damages, so the above may not apply to you.

The Promoters reserve the right, at their sole discretion, to discontinue this Competition or modify these Terms and Conditions without prior notification or consent. Any such changes will be available on this page.
